I have had several people express interest in making art through Daz 3d, while others have asked me questions about the basics of Daz 3d.
Since I tend to get the same questions repeatedly, I have decided to start doing regular (sort of) journal entries that give small tips on the basics of Daz 3d.
Tip 1: Get Started.
DazStudio can be downloaded from [link] . There are both PC and Mac versions, and the program comes with a few basic models. Additional models can be found at the site's current free model page [link] and from the older free model page ([link]) . There is also the free "3D Bridge Starter Pack" ([link]).
Daz will also weekly post a new free model on their "New Products and Promotions" page ([link]). Use the search bar at the top of the model list to search for lowest price first to quickly find the free model of the week. The model is free for a limited time, so I'd recommend checking twice a week. (A quick note: Sometimes there are no free models of the week, while other times there are two, and week is just a rough estimate). The New Products and Promotions place is also a great place to get some good deals, and I'd recommend signing up for the news letter, as its generally a pretty good indication of when they've put up a new free model.

And feel free to visit my little DA-jungle again... it's a beautiful paradise...Okay, sometimes you may hear the quickly choked down screams of some poor damsel... Hmmm... big snake troubles, you know... a common problem in paradises since Adam and Eve

That should be it. Let me know if it doesn't work.
